The 2-step presser foot lifter offers additional clearance for bulky fabrics.

Total Stitch Control
Allows for perfecting stitches by individually adjusting settings such as thread tension for each needle and looper, stitch length, differential feed, cutting width, Micro Thread Control, presser foot pressure, and Rolled Hem settings. Settings can be adjusted while sewing.
Micro Thread Control (mtc)
A simple turn lets you modify the amount of overedge thread for precise seam results.
BERNINA Free Hand System (FHS)
Use the knee-operated lever to raise or lower the presser foot, leaving both hands free to guide the fabric.
Swing-out Presser Foot
Swings to the left for ample space for easy threading, needle changing, and laying threads under the foot. Swings back automatically when lowered with the hand lifter.
Needle Stop Programmable
Needle stop can be permanently set up or down. Needle always stops in the highest position by default. Can also raise or lower the needle by a half stitch using the foot control.
Stitch-by-Stitch Sewing
Allows for slow, precise sewing, making the flawless production of precise lines and curves simple. Achieved by the DC Motor.
Colour-coded One-path Threading

Thread tension release
Thread tension discs release automatically when the presser foot is lifted for easy, tension-free threading.

Easy to Engage/Disengage Knife
The Knife On/Off Lever is positioned on the outside for quick disengagement when not trimming. Easily accessible while sewing.
Integrated Upper Looper Converter
Easily set up for applications without upper looper thread with the built-in converter.
LED Sewing Light
Illuminates the sewing and looper area, reducing eye strain. Can be switched on/off via the touch screen.
Thread Cutter
Conveniently positioned on the outside of the machine with a clamp function to neatly cut and hold thread chains.
Safety Switches
Machine has safety switches for the open cover and raised presser foot. Will not sew with presser foot raised by default (can be deactivated via touch screen). Speed is reduced with pulse drive when covers are open.
