Hobbs Tuscany Cotton/Wool Batting is an expertly crafted blend of 80% fine cotton and 20% super-washed wool, designed to meet the diverse needs of both novice and experienced quilters. This premium batting is available in Twin (72″ x 96″) and Queen (96″ x 108″) sizes, making it a versatile choice for a variety of quilting projects. The unique addition of wool creates a delightful loft, enhancing the definition of your stitching patterns while preserving the batting’s stability. This ensures that your quilts maintain a soft drape and resist creases, as wool naturally lacks a memory for creasing.

Ideal for bed quilts, Hobbs Tuscany Cotton/Wool Batting can also be used as a second layer in conjunction with Hobbs Tuscany 100% Wool Batting, favored by show quilters for its superior performance. Specifically designed for medium or dark-colored fabrics, this batting may slightly darken lighter fabrics due to the natural tones of wool and unbleached cotton, so testing is recommended for lighter projects.

Quilts crafted with this batting blend stand up to repeated washing, becoming softer over time. For best results, machine wash in cool water on a delicate cycle, and opt for air-drying or low/no-heat settings. Quilting or stitching should be performed every 4 inches or closer, with the awareness that a shrinkage of 3-5% may occur.

To ensure optimal performance and satisfaction, quilters are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this product by creating sample projects. This allows you to assess the batting’s needlework characteristics and washing effects. Note that pre-washing is not recommended to maintain the quality of the fibers.

Hobbs Tuscany Cotton/Wool Batting is also conveniently available by the roll, offering a practical solution for larger projects.
